Uncle George Lowery died in Kansas, without children, hence I claim 1/5 of 1/7 of his share. There may be portions of Nancy's, Lucy Benges, as my ancestors coming to me also. Great grandfather, George Lowery (Jr.) was second Chief and represented the Cherokees before the Departments at Washington before the war, and erected a monument to his memory at Tahlequah, Indian Territory.

Ward, who makes the foregoing application and statements, and have known him for 7 years and 20 years, respectively, and know him to be the identical person he represents himself to be, and that the statements made by him are true, to the best of their knowledge and belief, and they have no interest whatever in his claim.

I enclose a copy of the genealogy of the Lowery family where 'Lidia married Milo Hoyt', my grandmother and grandfathers name appear. Esther Hoyt, my grandmother, married James Ward, an Old Settler Cherokee.
