J. W. Dunnington Honored by Price

Local Citizen Named Port Authority Member

J. W. Dunnington, Farmville tobacconist was appointed a member of the State Port Authority of Virginia by Governor Price to succeed J. Scott Parrish, resigned.

The other two members of the authority are William MacC. Paxton of Norfolk who serves as treasurer and T. Parker Host of Newport News. The places of Garland Gray of Waverly which expired June 30 and of Marshall L. King of Alexandria who resigned June 13, before his term expired June 30, have not been filled on the five-member commission.

Mr. Dunnington, president of the Dunnington Tobacco COmpany, Inc of Farmville, is first vice-president of the Tobacco Association of the United States is scheduled to succeed President James S.Ficklen of Greenville, N. C. at the next annual meeting of the association. He is described in the magazine "Tobacco" as a traveler, student of condition, tobacco expert and man of the experience."

The Dunningtons have been tobacconist for nearly 100 years, according to teh same issue of "Tobacco". The present packing and expporting firm was founded by James W. Dunnington, who was born in Price Edward County. The business passoned on to his YES I AM AWARE THIS IS AN INCOMPLETE SENTENCE. I AM WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO GIVE ME THE REST.
