  MARCH 8 - Kathryn Dunnington Sydnor, 87, died Thursday, March 3, 2005 In Farmvllle.

      She was the daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. J. William Dunnington and the widow of J. Will Sydnor.

      Mrs. Sydnor graduated from Farmville High School and attended Smith College in Washington, DC, where she studied interior design. She was an avid golfer and a collector of southern antiques.

      She is survived by two sons. William Dunnington Sydnor and his wife, Linda of Richmond and William Jennings Sydnor, II of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Kathryn Sheffield Sydnor of Richmond and Nathaniel Terry Sydnor of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a sister, Sally Ann Dunnington Whidden of Farmville; three nieces. Dolly Whidden Homer of Lynchburg, Kirby Whidden McElroy of Charlotte, NC and Kathryn Sprye Goebel of China Grove, NC; two nephews, Francis Leigh Orgain of Chesapeake and Walter Clement Sprye of Rocky Mt., NC. She was preceded in death by a son, James Dudley Sydnor and two sisters, Dolly Dunnington Orgain and India Dunnington Sprye.

      Graveside services were held 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Westvlew Cemetery, Farmville.

      Remembrances may be made to the Prince Edward County Rescue Squad, 500 Doswell Street, Farmville, VA 23901 or Johns Memorial Episcopal Church, 400 High Street, Farmville, VA 23901.

      Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home, Farmville, was in charge of arrangements.
