Kathy's short memory - My dad traveled a lot. He and mother were a strong couple. He was rarely angry or should I say he rarely showed anger. I think I saw him upset 2 times in my life where he showed emotion. Yes, he was upset with events in life and might say something. I know in his final years, he had me do things that were the results of what he thought to be true. I probably will never know what was true and real and what was part of the disease. Even in his final days, he was a southern gentleman. He never lost that quality. He would have done anything for my mother. When they found out she had cancer, he offered to take her anywhere. He wanted her happy. Even when she was unable to walk, he tried to make her happy. They were excellent dancers. He picked her up and helped her dance some trying to bring some happiness in her life. (this was told to me by my Aunt Faye Hedgepeth).
I wish there were more people like my dad. The progression of life has caused many humans to be so self focused they would not know how to be a southern gentleman. I am glad I had the chance to know one...MY DAD.
