CAVEDO, Martha Lynn Sprye, died November 22, 2007. Martha was born January 7, 1925, in Knoxville, Tenn., the daughter of Flossie and Walter Sprye. She spent her formative years in High Point, N.C. and graduated from George Washington High School in Danville, Va. in 1943. After attending Farmville State Teachers College (Longwood University), she moved to Alexandria, Va., where she worked with the Army Air Transport Command at Washington National Airport. After World War II, Martha worked for American Airlines at Washington National and later opened the airline's Richmond ticket office in the John Marshall Hotel. Martha was active over the years as a community volunteer, including service on the junior and senior boards of the Virginia Home, where she also served as the residents' librarian. She was also a member of The Woman's Club, the Tuckahoe Woman's Club and the Country Club of Virginia, where she enjoyed golf and Mahjongg. Martha was a devoted wife, mother and dog lover. Allen Cavedo III, Bradley Brent Cavedo, his wife, Pamela Asbell Cavedo; and their sons, Bradley Brent Cavedo Jr. and Robert Walter Cavedo, all of Richmond.
